The Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYCWFF) has been NYC’s premier wine and food festival for the past 17 years. The four-day annual Festival showcased the talents of the world’s most renowned wine and spirits producers, chefs, culinary personalities and America’s most beloved television chefs across 80 events in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The NYCWFF supports New York City metropolitan area’s only provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for New Yorkers living with severe illness, God’s Love We Deliver. They have generated more than $14.8 million in net proceeds for its charitable causes to date.
This year the festival transitioned from its primary hub in Manhattan to Brooklyn. The renowned Pier Parties and Grand Tasting moved to the Invesco QQQ Festival Campus at Brooklyn Army Terminal.
We visited two events: The Grand Tasting and JJ Johnson’s The Cookout. Both events were conveniently located at the festival campus accessible by Uber or NYCWFF Ferry.
The Grand Tasting featuring culinary demonstrations was presented by HexClad. We spent the day sipping and sampling at this walk-around event. The Grand Tasting celebrates the best NYC restaurants and chefs carefully curated in partnership with NYC Tourism’s culinary content hub, Savor NYC, along with some of the most sought-after wines and spirits for an afternoon straight out of every food and wine enthusiast’s dreams.
The Cookout, now in its second year presented by Bacardi was a Hip-Hop Celebration hosted by JJ Johnson and Rev Run. The event celebrated Black cuisine to close out the festival. The best Black chefs in New York were invited to showcase their signature dishes accompanied by an assortment of beer, wine and cocktails to complement the food and beats.
