This year the Tortuga Music Festival set record numbers as over 100,000 fans hit the white sands of Fort Lauderdale for the ultimate beach party. Five years and growing strong in popularity, the festival drew crowds from all over the country and internationally for a weekend of fun in the sun. Sponsored by Rock the Ocean, the three day multistage event kicked off on Friday, April 7, 2017 featuring some of the top talent in country, rock and roots music. Performances began early afternoon and rocked into the evening ending with different headliners each night like Luke Bryan, Chris Stapleton and Kenny Chesney.
Rock the Ocean’s mission is to increase awareness about issues impacting the world’s oceans. Festival attendees learned how they could take action to protect and preserve ocean and marine life by visiting the various interactive exhibits in the conservation village. A percentage of the proceeds from ticket sales were donated to the nonprofit organizations participating in the event to continue their outreach.
Gorgeous weather graced the weekend as festival-goers partied on the beach. Sun worshippers and country music lovers united to attend the star-studded benefit concert. Ranked as one of the top 20 festivals worldwide, the Tortuga Music Festival showcased some of the hottest artists in the industry like: Kane Brown, Alan Jackson, Darius Rucker, Dustin Lynch, Maren Morris, Brett Eldredge, Old Dominion, Michael Ray, Locash, and many more.
Cheers to a successful event. It doesn’t get much better than this.
