Southport Raw Bar is located at 1536 Cordova Road adjacent to the marina in a small inlet of the ocean. Although it does not appear to be much from the street side, entering shows that first impressions are not always accurate. Once inside, step into a world of color, starting with the ceiling tiles that celebrate events in the lives of those who have visited over the years, some even dating back to 1976, only three years after the restaurant was established. Nautical decorations adorn the walls. Pictures of actors and musicians who have visited the area accompanied with caricatures for each of the seventeen original servers align the walls. Island and classic rock music play through the stereo ranging from Bob Marley to Hall & Oats.  Laughter fills the air and provides an overall pleasant experience.

Sit back, relax and enjoy conversations with family and friends. Southport Raw Bar is home to a diverse group of people sharing in a central desire: good food, a great vibe, and a family friendly experience. The experience is what keeps both the patrons and the staff coming back each year. Most of the staff have been working there for over ten years proving that the restaurant business does not always have a fast turn over. The commitment of the staff reflects on the service and quality of the dining experience. Patrons know staff members by name and feel as if they are going over a neighbor’s house for dinner and drinks rather than to a restaurant. “It is the first place you go when you land and the last place you visit before you take off”, says Zander Brant, a local photographer.

The menu is fast, simple, and inexpensive offering mostly fried seafood dinners like: catfish, clams, and shrimp.  Southport Raw Bar believes, “Eat fish, live longer.  Eat clams, last longer.  Eat oysters, love longer.”  Considering, it is no surprise that the raw bar is what continues to impress patrons serving fresh clams, oysters, snow crab and shrimp.    Comprised mostly  of island themed offerings, some popular menu items are: famous Bimini Bread, Conch Fritters, Old Bay Shrimp and Florida Key Lime Pie.  The bar serves an assortment of beer and wine selections both domestic and imported.
