General Manager, Steve Jacobs believes that a restaurant’s success can be measured by the strength of its start. Now seven weeks after its grand opening, Fork & Balls continues to draw regular crowds to its doors. The meatball kitchen is the newest addition to the Las Olas dining scene. As indicated in its name, most of the menu items take the form of a ball. With headings like: Just Balls, Balls on Top, and Balls in Between, the name requires a sense of humor, but there is nothing funny about the taste. The restaurant has a spacious, open layout comprised of a large rectangular bar in the center with various seats surrounding. The décor fuses rustic and urban elements combining smooth, dark wood tones with brick and ornate lighting. Sink into a booth with soft, burgundy leather upholstery or choose a high top table for your group with direct access to the bar.
One dish that you will not want to miss is the Toscana. The Toscana is a melt in your mouth meatball plate with a homemade flavor reminiscent of the dishes the Italian grandmother you wish you had used to make. A blend of ground veal and pork combined with eggplant, tossed with butter beans, rampini and served in a light broth with parmesan is an instant crowd-pleaser.
Share the Crispy Calamari. The Crispy Calamari is lightly breaded, fried and tossed with marina sauce, sweet and hot peppers, and roasted garlic aioli. The unique blend of sauces produces a bold and spicy dish to ignite the palate.
The Brussel Sprouts might sound like an ordinary dish, but these are far from what you avoided as a child. Prepared with toasted garlic, tomato sauce, bacon and parmesan; they make eating vegetables an enjoyable experience right down to the last bite.
The Mac & Cheese made with Gouda, rigatoni, peas, mushrooms and topped with light bread crumbs satisfies your need for comfort food.
Try the Ball of the Day. That night, it was the Swedish Meatball made with beef, nutmeg, onion and garlic, mushroom demi-glaze served in a reduced veal stock.
