It began as a quest to find a truly good burger.  Disappointed by the limited local options, Flipside Burgers and Bar’s inception began.  Channeling his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for good food, owner, Mike Baffa was compelled to open a restaurant that created unique takes on traditional dishes, and balanced a lively neighborhood bar with a relaxed family friendly atmosphere.  Mike collaborated with mixologist, Stephanie McCool to construct a creative menu that holds true to their belief that quality food and drink will not only bring people together, but keep them coming back for more.

Just weeks away from their seven year anniversary in September, the team remains committed to ensuring that their guests have an overall enjoyable experience.  Baffa believes that communication is the key to effective customer service. He tells his staff, “You only make a mistake if you can’t fix it.” Flipside’s hard work and commitment has been recognized as the recipient of numerous awards like Best Burger CT 2016 as well as Best of Fairfield Burger 2016.

Located in the Brick Walk plaza in downtown Fairfield, Flipside Burgers & Bar’s menu is comprised of starters, specialty burgers & hot dogs, sliders, custom burgers & dogs, soups & salads and desserts.  Everything is made fresh and never frozen.  Probably one of the most impressive aspects of the menu is that Baffa and his team take creative liberty.  Their artistry is evident in the reinvention of old favorites with newly crafted dishes.  Flipside Burgers & Bar honors originality and is constantly seeking ways to improve its menu.

Try the Glazed Calamari appetizer, lightly battered and fried calamari drizzled with blackberry-jalapeño glaze and chopped banana pepper.  The sweet and spicy combination of flavors in this dish produce a delightfully unexpected pairing that you need to experience first-hand.

The Pork Tamale Bites are grilled tamale pancakes topped with BBQ pork, pickles, pickled onions, chipotle aioli, queso fresco and homemade potato chips.  Ensure that you get the perfect bite by getting all of the elements into that first irresistible mouthful of flavor.

The Chip & Dip Burger is one of the many specialty burgers to choose from on the menu.  This very juicy burger is topped with swiss cheese, carmelized onions, homemade potato chips and French onion dip.

For those mac ‘n cheese lovers, the Land & Sea Mac ‘n Cheese is a must have.  The sinfully delicious dish combines homemade mac ‘n cheese with sautéed chicken and shrimp, mushrooms, four creamy cheeses, bread crumbs and parmesan cheese.

The Candy Popper Burger is for those who believe that opposites do attract.  This sweet and savory concoction is another specialty burger option with cream cheese, candied bacon, sweet carrot-jalapeño slaw served on a buttery pretzel bun.

Flipside Burgers & Bar offers Happy Hour specials in the bar area Monday-Saturday from 3-6pm with half-priced drinks, 25% off all pitchers and discounted small plate offerings.

Daily drink specials:  Sunday: $4 Palm Drafts all day, Monday: $7 Specialty Martinis, Tuesday: $4 Draft Beers, Wednesday: ½ priced bottles of wine, Thursday: $25 Monster drinks, Friday: $12 Buckets of Coronitas and $25 Monster Margaritas, Saturday: 25% off seasonal specialty drinks.
